Kenya is a country of great ethnic diversity.

There are about 42 different tribes in Kenya - each of these with its own unique culture, but majority of them with intertwining cultural practices brought about by the close resemblance in the languages, the similar environment and physical proximity of the tribes.

Some of them - the Massai,Amberu, Kikuyu,Luhya, Samburu, Pokoto,Ogiek, Giriama ...each of the them having its own traditional practices and symbols that make them unique


Villages in Kenya are the perfect places to get introduced to local culture and lifestyle.

Animal rehabilitation and orphange

Animals received at the facility, undergo a thorough medical examination, followed by treatment where that is called for, before entering into an appropriate feeding and rehabilitation program.

The Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage is located near Nairobi National Park.Elephant calves orphanned by poaching are brought here from all over the country. They receive extremely specialized treatment here, and literally receive personal care 24 hours a day from highly dedicated staff who become surrogate mothers to the calves.


Giraffe Centre is located in Langata, just outside Nairobi.

Hand feeding giraffes is an education in itself. You will see, close at hand, how they use their long, prehensile tongues to remove leaves from prickly acacia branches.

Lamu Old town - The World Heritage Committee inscribed Lamu Old Town on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001

The town of Lamu began life as a 14th century Swahili settlement, but the island has seen many visitors and influences, including Portuguese explorers, Turkish traders and the Omani Arabs.

There are no vehicles on this island, and the donkey and the dhow remain the dominant form of transport.

Lamu is to enter another world, and the visitor finds themselves becoming a part of this world.


Lamu Museums are located in the North Coast, a World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful & serene locations on the African continent. Museum attractions include the Lamu Museum, Lamu Fort, German Post Office, Swahili House and the Takwa Ruins.


Fort Jesus - The World Heritage Committee inscribed Fort Jesus on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001

Fort Jesus is an interesting place to spend a day exploring the gun turrets, battlements and houses within the walls. There is an excellent Museum and trained guides available.

Fort Jesus is a National Monument, standing high over the Mombasa harbor.
