Ruaha

If your safari dream is untouched Africa, where you can drive all day without seeing another vehicle, where birdlife is spectacular and wildlife diverse, Ruaha is the Tanzania for you.

 

Lion hunt in big prides, largest population of elephants in all Africa. The park is set along the Ruaha River. Ruaha features magnificent scenery and a landscape that varies from forest to rocky hills. Ruaha is a fantastic place for experienced travellers who appreciate the simple values of traditional wildlife safaris. 

Wilderness paradise - Selous

The Selous is the largest game reserve in Africa. The park supports a wide variety of wildlife including elephant, lion, leopard, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, crocodile and many antelope and bird species.

 

Selous  is ideal for the adventure traveler who wishes to see Africa in its raw spender. Game viewing is some of the best you will experience in all of Africa. This is a reserve where you can spend several days and each day will be filled with wonder and excitement.

Rufiji river waterways provide superb natural passages for bird-viewing boats.Above the river the rolling grassy woodlands and plains rise up to rocky outcrops, dotted with volcanic hot springs. 

 

This is a game reserve, not a national park and the distinction becomes important if you want to try some fishing.

 

Few lodges they are all fantastic in their own way, offering tastes of luxury without losing the essential authenticity.

Mikumi & Udzungwa National Parks

Mikumi National Parkis easily accessible from Dar es Salaam, and ideal for someone with little time for a safari.
Mikumi is one of the most popular parks in Tanzania and is an important centre for education where students go to study ecology and conservation.
Elephant, giraffe, buffalo, lion, zebras, wildebeest, leopard and crocodile are commonly seen. It shares its southern border with Selous Game Reserve.

 

Udzungwa Mountains National Park  is one of Tanzania’s most outstanding pristine, paradise and unique exciting wilderness mountains forested park. The park is home of primate – as red colobus, black and white Angola Colobus, blue and velvet monkeys and yellow baboons.

 

More than 400 species of birds live here. There are also endemic amphibians, reptiles, and butterflies.

Very good for a two-hour hike to the waterfall to camping safaris, you will explore the park's walking trails with a national parks' guide. These trails vary in length from a few hours to three days.
Combine with nearby Mikumi or en route to Ruaha.
